Monon Diesel Roster - Chicago, Indianapolis & Louisville

The Monon was originally the Chicago Indianapolis & Louisville Railroad, "the Monon route," until 1956, when the corporate name was changed simply to "Monon."

It was an X-shaped road that linked Chicago with Cincinnati, Ohio, and Michigan City, Indiana, with Louisville, Kentucky.

It became part of the Louisville & Nashville in 1971.
